Artists statement

I create art that explores the raw beauty of nature through an expressive and intuitive lens. Whether painting flowers, landscapes, or stormy skies, I work instinctively - guided more by feeling than by plan.

My work is shaped by a lifelong connection to the outdoors and by values instilled in me from a young age, especially a deep respect for the natural world and the urgent need to protect it. This awareness quietly underpins much of what I paint, giving my work both meaning and purpose.

My process is spontaneous. I respond to colour, movement, light, and mood in the moment. Each painting unfolds on its own terms, often revealing something unexpected - a sense of place, an emotion, or a fleeting story hidden within the landscape.

The result is work that is unpolished, alive, and rooted in the wildness and wonder of the world around us. For me, painting is both an exploration and an act of conservation - a way of honouring nature’s vitality and reminding us of its preciousness.

Biography

Lynn Keddie is a British contemporary painter whose work celebrates the energy and expressive beauty of flowers, landscapes, and nature’s abstract forms. Her art reflects a deep respect for the natural world and the importance of preserving it for future generations.

After a career in business, Lynn’s move to Wiltshire in 1995 and work as a garden photographer reconnected her with nature and reignited her passion for painting. Largely self-taught, she has refined her approach through mentorship and inspiration from notable contemporary artists:Alice Mumford RWA, Louise Balaam NEAC RWA, Sarah Spencer RAS NEAC.

Working intuitively in oil and acrylic, Lynn captures the vitality of nature and landscapes she loves, blending colour, texture, and movement to evoke both beauty and the fragility of our environment. Her work is held in private collections across the UK, Spain, and the United States.
